I've never heard of this brand Flor De Lis until a few months ago. And from the moment I saw it, it didn't take long for me to pull the trigger.
Why?
Well to be honest, I bought it mostly for its beautiful eye-catching blue package. Keto results 2 weeks.
But after drinking it every day for the past two weeks or so, I was very pleased with this brand.

As I carefully open this package as to not harm its lovely design, I'm welcomed with this bright aroma filled with grass and cereal. Delectable hints of strawberry jam are also weaved into its bouquet, while a light smokiness hides in the back.
Going into this mate, I had no clue what to expect. There are barely any reviews or people talking about this brand. All I know is it looks pretty from the outside and it's dried using the traditional barbacua method.
But after having a few gourds of Flor De Lis, I can now say it contains this rich soil-likeearthiness coupled with lovely notes of toasted bread/oats and tobacco. A fresh grassy taste is also noticeable in the background. Very reminiscent of La Tranquera and Nobleza Gaucha. The barbacua method adds a nice smokiness behind the mate. Typically, this method leaves a cigarette/ashtray-like taste behind, but not with this one. Flor De Lis features hints of burning oak wood – slightly sweet yet slightly sour. Then as I get around the halfway point, I start tasting hints of black pepper.
Overall, Flor De Lis is very warm and inviting (especially during these colder months). Its flavor profile is also very complex. Each session, I taste something new. The above is what I get the most but sometimes notes of dried fruits and cream pop up too.
This mate does best in hotter temperatures of around 160ºF (71ºC).
